Thanks So Much

Hi you all, this is a quick post of a card I did in Stampin up class last night that fit perfect for the ending of the theme this week over at Card A Day Blog! We Thank you all our viewers and followers for taking time to see what were doing and taking time to be in the challenges at Card A Day Blog and here at my own blog, Thanks So Much
This card is from my class last night so all the pieces are done with Stampin Up supplies. As you can see it's smudged with love. Guess I need to sit down and practice with the Stamp-a-ma-gig more to get a better hang of using it.
Since all the items were already pre-cut I'm not sure what was all used, but the darker ink is the same name color as the teal color cardstock, which give a really nice tone-on-tone.
Oh, Hello is the stamp set used on the card and the Bitty Butterfly punch. The butterflies were popped up. The chevron was done with the masking technique too.  Twill ribbon down the side with a piece tied in a knot for texture.
Not to bad, got to embrace the mistakes to get better. Lol I think that is the way it goes.

Thanks for stopping by today and seeing the view from my little corner of the world....

Merci

Good Morning! Thank You can be said in so many different languages but it all means the same thing. I'm the designer today at Card A Day Blog and the theme this week is Thank You.
I seen this card and thought what a cool way to say Thank You, so I scrap-lifted it.
Card base is black cardstock 4 3/8" X 6 1/4". The card front is from the Creative Memories Black & White and was cut from the Creative Memories Reminisce Accents Cartridge. I just got this cartridge and just couldn't wait to try it. It has some many elegant frames and borders, I can see this one being used alot like the elegant edges cart. Added a little glitter glue for some bling and it makes a great card for any situation.

Have a fantastic day and there is still time to get into the challenge! I provided the link below for the challenge and you can see the fantastic prize and the rules here too

Project Life 2013: Week 7

Hi you all, slowing but surely I'm moving forward on Project Life. Getting closer to having 2 months completed. Here is week #7:
Week 7: February 11-17, 2013, Consisted of being sick and Valentine's Day all in the same week.
Left Side:
Consisted of a Week card block that stated both parts of the week, I was so sick on Monday that I never took a picture, so I found a really fun cartoon online of being sick and stayed home avoiding any one. Tuesday I was asked to come in so this is the way I felt trying to work. Wednesday I finished up my taxes for the appointment that night. Worked on it off and on (still sick). Found out that I made to much money so I owed in.
Right Side:
Started off with the 14th, so I got pictures of our cards, see we celebrate loving each other everyday so we don't do anything huge for Valentine's Day, but I love to make the hubby a card and he got me the cutest card this year. Added a few fill in cards and a picture of the valentine that we got from our youngest grandchild, it was so cute! Saturday tried to do some cleaning and Sunday I did a 2-page layout for Creative Cutting Challenge blog for that week's particular assignment. Since I was sick most f the week I got mine in a bit later than what I wanted.
Some up close shots:
This shows that really cute cartoon and part of my week in review. I also added the little note I got from Barb my leaded for BSF with my notes this week.
I found a really cool sticker pack that has a variety of items about work and about coffee and Tuesday and Wednesday pictures worked perfect for some of the stickers so they were a fun addition.
This week's spread was fun to do, I enjoyed changing it up a bit and used the Colorbok paper pad for the left side and My Mind's Eye: 6X6 A Happy Heart for the rights side which was most fitting for that part of the week.
Coming to find out that if you choose just one paper pack to work with, you can get alot of pieces for PL out of it, more than what I want to use through out. So when I hit spring I'll probably change to another paper line for a bit and use the left over cuts for front of cards or maybe I'll have a blog candy drawing with the left overs. Stay tuned to see, got at least 4 more weeks of spreads till I get to spring.

Thanks for stopping by toady and seeing the view from my little corner of the world......

Project Life 2013: Week 6

Hi you all, hope you had a fantastic day yesterday, we sure did!
Yes up to week 6, I followed the challenge for this week with from 2 Peas in a Pod, two Saturday's ago: the challenge was to use 6 X 6 pads. These pads seem to work well with project life with the smaller designs.
I used My Mind's Eye 6 X 6 paper pads: Lost & Found and Every Day Flair. I wanted to get away from the Documented pallet for a bit-with all the creativeness going on this week I decided to change it up a bit.
Left side:
The pictures consisted of a cool bird came into the feeder and I got a good shot of him and my husband's calendar page seem to fit for added interest to the picture. Progression of a vertical album I've been working on and a swap from another smasher, Kim, I got the brown Nostalgia Smash book this is such a cool one for all those old pics.
Right Side:
The pictures on this side is of a new tire I got because Wednesday I had one going flat, pumped it up and the next day it was right back down again so thought best to get a new tire. Yay, more snow (with a sarcasm attitude) not my fav weather. A random shot of Buddy and some composition books I did for Cricut Card Exchange swap group. Saturday I worked on cuts for 2 swap groups and Sunday needed to work on my 2012 taxes for my business for tax appointment coming up. Sooner or later I'll learn not to procrastinate when it comes to my business paper work.
Some up close shots:
Used thickers this week on the date block, used a spot from my calender about creativity for one of the pictures of the vertical album.
Found some cool journal blocks in my stash and got a couple of them scanned into PE and was able to add the text to give it a cleaner look and then printing it out. Used a cute snowman rub-on. Added the Week in Review cards with some washi tape to decorate them.
It was alot of fun putting this spread together and it was nice to get away from the document pallet for a bit.
I'm linking up at 2 Peas in a Pod.

A 4th of July Layout for the CCChallenge #17

Happy Memorial Day! Thank you to the service men and women that have or are still serving. Thank You!

Here is the last challenge for Creative Cutting Challenge-off for Summer break. The theme is anything for 4th of July. I decided to do a 2-page scrapbook layout:
I created the layout from this sketch:

I used the heading, the flag banner as a tip for the arrow and a couple of stars from the Patriotic set:
Patriotic Set - Click Image to Close
This isn’t your typical 4th of July layout, but the cuts from the Patriotic set gives a 4th of July feel to the layout.
 Left Side:
Right Side:
This is what we did 4th of July in 2012. Since it was on a Wednesday we were treated to availability to get to the Lewisburg Farmer's Market, took a leisurely drive towards home stopped in Milton to check out the old train station and then home with the boughten treats at the market for the boys. It was a fun day. Since we both worked the next day, there wasn't a chance to see the firworks that night.
The materials I used in the layout was from the My Mind's Eye American Made collection, the background paper was in my drawer of blues papers so it probably came from a swap or a paper pad but not sure of who made it. The Navy blue paper was from a scrap. the journaling block came from a creative memories pack I have.
Check out the challenge over at Creative Cutting Challenge blog and join in on the fun.

Project Life 2013: Week 5

I'd like to start my post today with sympathies and prayers for the people in the storm areas, so much devastation, so many lost lives especially the children in Oklahoma my heart goes out to you all today. Prayers for strength, rebuild and many blessings.

Big news first: I got a Silhouette Cameo! Woot Woot! It arrived yesterday and I plan to check it out over the next few days to see what it can do. I seen so many cool cuts from other project lifers that I can't wait to do some myself.

I had a very crafty weekend, got week 5 done and week 6 and 7 too. But today I'll just show you Week 5 and the rest will follow over the next week or 2.
The left side:The end of January
The right side:The beginning of February
Some close-up shots:
Weekly block includes a cricut cut I found on one of the cartridges and cut a while back.
Couple of pics taken of our birdfeeder, something I enjoy in the morning while drinking coffee is see the birds coming into to the feeder. I included a Get Glue sticker of a movie I watched Wednesday night and during that day my project life photo pages arrived, now I can get started with PL.
A special moment with Grandpa, Dave gave Zach a harmonica to entertain himself while we were visiting with Brad and Zach. It was so much fun and got a video too of the precious moment.
Added strips of the calendar page for the beginning of February it was fitting for the 2nd day of February and the groundhog prediction. Saturday tried a new recipe, looks like it went over well and the inclusion some of the details of the Super Bowl Sunday (my team didn't win)
Sunday was a full day: We processed Spaghetti and Pizza sauce, a female Red-bellied Woodpecker came into the feeder, this is the only time I seen her in and got a picture. The Monday of this week I got a shot of the male bird. Got through 3 videos of the Vertical Bag series which you can find the first video here at Ginger's youtube spot

I did this Friday night-took 5 hours to do the complete week, all hand journaling too. It was a fun week to do.
I'm linking up at The Mom Creative's Project Life Tuesday, looks like an every other Tuesday link.

Happy Graduation Day Jessica

Today is a special day for us, our grand-daughter Jessica graduates today. Sadly we can't be there to see here walk up and get her diploma, over a 1,000 miles are in the way. This is the card I made for her:
Jessica's school colors are Green, Blue, Silver and Black so I made sure to capture all those colors in the card. This card is jam packed with goodies. I put sequins on it in various colors that I found in my stash. The card base is from my new cricut cartridge Artiste, love this cartridge! I wanted this cartridge just for the flip cards, but it has way more fun than just that. I used Accent 2-square cut at 6".
Paper used for the card: Cardbase is blue cardstock from the Magnifique (CTMH), Green cardstock from the Mayberry (CTMH), layers are Colorbok-Gray perlesence and DCWV-Rock Star pack- Black with silver stars.
Green 4" X 4", Black w/Stars 2 5/8" X 2 5/8", Natural 2" X 2" for the sentiment. Sentiments: SU- Happy Graduation from Teeny Tiny Wishes and You Rock (not sure of the collection) Momento Black Ink.
On the inside:Gray is 5 /8" X 4.5", Black w/ stars: 5.5" X 4 3/8", Natural 4" X 4" stamped with Taylored Expressions: Graphic Greetings Graduate (love this stamp!)
Also on the flip part of the card I added the girl graduate free file from svgcuts.com out of various scraps. Isn't she a sweetie!
Happy Graduation Day Jessica!

Project Life 2013: Week 4

Hello all, back to scrapping with project life week 4, that is what I consider project life just a different way to do it than the traditional way. Each spot is like a little scrapbook page, lol! So if your following along with a page a day in May challenge then I just finished page 6 and 7.
The week was a fun week to do, it included a cool new TV show that I started watching The Following, I even included the Get Glue sticker for the premiere on it: Left Side:
The Right Side:
The left side included the President's Inauguration, includes a quote from his speech that I found available at Laura Katie is Crafty, includes my thoughts, Tues has a pic of our bird feeder and lots of birds that morning and a card that I made for Card A Day Blog. One thing I love about PL is I can include pics of my creations too. This week is heavily around me, just haven't got Dave on board yet for this whole PL idea. He said last night I live life and you document life (even though crafting is a huge part of my life and I show how we live)
The right side includes the Week in Review cards, current pictures of the dogs, hair appointment, a 365 photo prompt, cleaning and a very cold morning. I included part of the appointment card, a calendar page that worked perfect for the picture that day (Christmas gift a Day by Day calendar, I have been saving the pages to see if they will work any place in the weekly spreads).

How are you doing with your project life or if you have tagged along for the a Page a Day in May challenge. Now to figure out how to get a bit faster at project life and still be able to include all the little embellishments (I spent all day Sunday on this other than going to church, in-between laundry and making supper, I know I got over 4 hours in it). If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them in the comments.

I'm going to give this a try this week and linking up at The Mom Creative's Project Life Tuesday, looks like an every other Tuesday link.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing the view from my little corner of the world. Now off to get a little more caught up in PL and my scrapbook pages.....

A Father's Day Card for a CCChallenge #16

Hi Everyone in blog land, I hope all the Mothers out there had a wonderful Mother's Day! Now on to Father's Day cards that need to be made for the fathers in your life. This week is Father's Day Cards at Creative Cutting Challenge and if you need an idea go check them out and then add you own card to the challenge. My card:
I created a card with a classic car from the Car Set collection
Car Set - Click Image to Close
This set has 5 cool cars in it, that are great for anything masculine.
This was a really fun card to make. The car was cut from black cardstock and vellum in my stash. This was the first time I used vellum with the cricut and it cut the design out perfect at the same setting as the black cardstock. The card base is from the seaside pack I purchase from Joanns, the background layer is from the Colorbok Textures pack, the paper gave a nice background for the car and the sentiment. I found some twill ribbon in my stash for the border (note: need to get some masculine ribbon). I made to blocks from the blue piece I used and the light tan from my stash that the edges were ink with distressed ink Walnut Stain. The sentiment was cut from one of the fonts from SCAL and was cut from a blue in a Metals pack of cardstock from recollections. Added 2 green buttons from my stash to balance out the green from the ribbon.
Now to decide who is going to get this cool card....

Zach's First Tooth

Hi! Glad you could stop by. I have another scrapbook page for Zachary's 1st year album. I was looking through the photos and not to many left to scrap about another week and this album should be complete. Today the layout is Zach's first tooth:
and I used this sketch:

The details:
The paper the layout is on is from the Creative Memories Seasons paper pack that I got free at a recent crop. Used the Creative Memories Cutting System-Circles for the first time for the picture and the background cut out for the border. I can see this will be a new favorite tool real quick! It was so easy to use. The border around the picture came from KaiserCraft-Conceal sheet, the journaling block came from Cosmo Cricket Social Club Elements-Now Spin Me Round. The blue first baby's tooth stickers came from a Jolee's pack. The flags in the corner, the 1 on the one flag, the arrow Look at Me came from Simple Stories-Awesome stickers page. The stars came from Simple Stories-Documented stickers page. The First Tooth title came from an unmarked embellish pack it's a fabric element. The date came from my Dymo maker.
This was a fun sketch to do and really out of my comfort zone, I keep looking at that empty spot in the right corner thinking I need to add something, but I didn't. It took only a couple hours to do.

Thanks for stopping by and and seeing the view from my little corner of the world.

My New Ride

Good Morning you all and I'm back with another scrapbook page, my camera died on me yesterday so the picture of the layout was done with my phone camera so I hope it's not to bad of a picture.
I used this sketch from Scrapbooks and Cards: a Spring 2013 sketch for the inspiration of the layout:
http://www.scrapbookandcards.com/documents/SCT_bonus_sketch_spring_2013_12x12single.jpg
This was a bit interesting to do, tried to work out the dimensions of all the cut paper on paper first and as I was putting it together realized that it wasn't working as I planned but worked through it piece by piece. 4 papers are 12 X 12, 10.5 X 10,5, 6 3/8"w X 8 3/4"h, 6 1/8' w X 8.5". I used white and navy cardstock and the lt. blue paper from Clorbok All Boy pattern pack and the brown is from DCWV The basics stack paper pad, I used Mini Monograms cricut cartridge for the title scallop, the edge embellishment and journaling scallop (circle navy at 2.5" and the scallop shadow tan at 2.5") with an added tan cardstock that was inked with distressed ink walnut stained. Used a MS punch for the brown pieces of embellishments, a couple of vellum blocks for some sheets in my stash and a date sticker from jillibean soup: journaling sentiments with a couple of green crystal stickers elements.

This was a fun one to do, it took me approximately 3 hours from start to finish.
I just may get this album done this month!
Thanks for stopping by ans checking out the view in my little corner of the world....

Your in My Thoughts and Prayers

Hi everyone I am the designer today over at Card A Day Blog. Sympathy cards can be the most trying card to do when the event is taking place, so my thoughts are that it would better to have some done and available for such an event.

January card sketch challenge
This card was made for a swap that I was in and the sketch challenge on the Northeaster Scrapbook Friends yahoo group I belonged to.

I cut the blocks of sunflowers out and the mat for it was cut with Spellbinders: Classic Scallop Squares small die 3" X 3". The background pattern paper was cut at 4" X 5.25". The borders (3) layers: the front layer at 2" and the back 2 layers at 1"
 The recipe for the card:
Border paper is from Stampin Up, background mat and the mat paper behind the flower is from My Minds Eye Bella Bella pack. Sunflowers came from Best of Brenda Walton Stack.
Stamp: I got from Micheals
Cardbase: White cardstock from The Paper Company
Ink: SU Basic Black
Punch for the layers: Martha Stewart Doily Lace.

This was easily made with the sketch and it would be appropriate for a male or female recipient. I'm glad that I was able to share it with you all.
Wow last month was a bit busy and I plan to be on the blog more often this month. I wish you all a good day....

It was a good week, got a couple more boxes of swap stuff put away. Got to craft a bit on Wed. because of the snow. A dear friend of mine was in a horrific accident in October 2012 wit alot of prayers and some great doctors by the grace of God she pulled out of it and has been on the mend ever since. Friday she stop by the shop it was good to see her up and about. God is amazing!
