End of Season

Hi you all,
I have to get this posted before tomorrow to get it hooked up to the sketched I used. I had fun watching Dave as he was cleaning up the tomato patch and took some pictures of the process:
While I was looking through the challenges that I collected through the month I came across this sketch from Sketch N Scrap and just loved the grid style of the sketch:

this is sketch #9
This was so cool and with all the little pictures of the process this grid style was just perfect for the layout. Close up pictures of the layout:

It was fun to create this layout over the weekend, the year end rituals that Dave goes through preparing the ground for the winter season, piece by piece (like the grid) each section gets done after the season is over for that particular planting.
This was the last of the five page kits I made up for stash bash and had a blast putting them together. Took only a couple of hours each layout since I had all the parts and just had to decide the sketch and what I may have wanted to get creative with the layout.
It was fun trying to kill my counterfeit kit too for the month but once again not quite but I'm getting closer only a few pages left and looking forward to October 1st when the new inspirational kit comes out :)
I'm including this layout in Lasting Memories: Nature's Glory challenge.

& Then

LOL I know not much of a title to the post but I had 3 choices to use from the layout and I liked this one the best. This is another layout that I had pulled a kit together during stash bash and I got to say it's a quick way to put a layout together in an evening. Just might have to do a few of these kits when I pull my counterfeit kit together next month for some quick scrapping during the week.
I used this sketch for the layout so fun too, need to keep this one around I think.

It's sketch #90 from My Scraps & More Sketches
I seen from some of the inspirational layouts that a few added pictures various places on the layout so I knew then that the bigger photo and the extra photo would work out just fine. This is a fun playful layout of when Brad, Katherine, Zachary and Tristan was over for a visit last month encouraging Brad to take his pedal tractor home so Zachary would be able to have time to play and ride it.
We took a walk about the yard and at one point Katherine got on it to ride it a bit while Zachary was trying to push her :) Just a fun picture and a super fun visit. I used supplies from my current counterfeit kit and the butterfly and flower stickers come from last month's kit, a fun addition to bring in some girly into the layout. I wanted Katherine's spot to be a little bit more special so I added a stamp from My Mind's Eye indie chic collection stamped with memento tuxedo black ink, thought to use some of the foil that I was playing with the other day the one that painted in the crush curry was added. Some little flowers and a Hello cutout to round out that block of the layout.
A fun picture of Zach on the pedal tractor with a sticker from the Simple Stories: Awesome alpha sticker sheet, some cork chevrons pointing to Zach pedaling all by himself .
Dad helping Zachary getting started or maybe he was just stuck in that spot, I thought the cutout of the Lets Go! worked very well in that spot. Some fun cutout circles from the word paper that I had in the kit .

Thanks for stopping by today and see what I'm up to in my little corner of the world....

Just Hanging Out with Pooh

Hi you, yep it's Sunday and the end of the month and I'm crafting so a double post today to make some of those challenges for September. This layout was so fun to do and I had the page kit ready to go.
I used the sketch from Stuck?! to help me out with this layout :

I t was just the right sketch for what was taking place :) Also saw from the inspirations from the designers that some added another picture to the layout so that helped me with the extra photo among the group. I used alot of the blues that were in my counterfeit kit for this layout and used the left over red cardstock in the kit for the accent color
Found that one piece was big enough to use as a tag, I punched the edge with a SU punch so I can make tags whenever I want :) Dressed up the tag with My Mind's Eye Indie chic stamp set and memento Nautical Blue ink stamped on it. Further dressed it up with the washi tape I pulled for this layout kit, a scrap of the other blue pattern paper and a thicker piece. Added some jute cord for the tag string.
with Pooh came from Thickers: Sunny that was in a previous kit months back but still have sitting in a box (really need to get these extras put away :)
The red card stock was a nice touch to break up the blue a bit I used MS Embossed zigzag punch for the edges.
The journaling was done on this 3X4 card that is from the recent kit came out of the 7gypsies package. Journaled about the visit and Tristan with Pooh.
You all have a fantastic rest of the day, I have just enough time to maybe get one more layout done before I take my nap.
Tristan sure was having fun playing with Pooh. Took his mind right off his teething issues :)

Class of 1944

Good day, I hope your enjoying this fine Sunday :) The weather this weekend has been absolutely gorgeous here in PA. A little bit of summer left, we spent part of the day with Albert's boys in the pumpkin patch and Dave picked apples for sauce to be canned up for the winter. I seem to have been stuck in the house after visiting with some cleaning and doing my half a year taxes a bit late too.
This layout came about from a 24 Hour challenge from Scrappin N Chattin yahoo group I belong to. We put in few collections of choices and the hostess well she chooses the sketches. Once all is ready we each get a name and decide what collection and sketch that person will do.
The chosen collection for me was Simple Stories Legacy collection and the sketch was from a past creative scrappers birthday bash:

In the envelope of recent printed photos I knew I had some older black and white photos printed to get some heritage layouts done since I got this collection. Love that I came across these 3 of my Dad, his senior picture and the yearbook that they were in, that I found at the local Library while doing some genealogy research, the photos are from my phone camera.
So I went to work building the layout and I like the way that it came out.
The stickers that came with the kit was a nice addition to the layout. I tried to stick with things that referred to school or pictures. The jute cord on the tag is the only thing I have from my counterfeit kit this month :)
Some information I found online of some of the prices of things in 1944
My thoughts of how I came about these pictures. We don't have many of Dad in his early years and so glad I come across these. Cool to see that he went to the same Jr High that us kids went to so thinking he lived on Scott Street for a while growing up. The High School that he went to was not the same as mine but going to Williamsport Area Community College I got to be in the building that was the High School long ago.
I can see some resemblances of each of us kids in Dad's picture also I can see some of his grandkids resembling him just a bit.
Thanks for stopping by today to enjoy some time down memory lane. So now I got my heritage album started and would like to try to get a few of these types of layouts a month especially now as the seasons change and I'll be in my scrapping room more. So time and again you may meet my early family members. Have a fantastic week ahead.....
