Birthday Card with a Twist for Funday Friday

Good Morning and welcome to the weekend :) It's been a odd week this week. Ever have one those weeks where you planned out what your going to do and then it just doesn't happen! Yep my weekly planner said Doing December Daily all week this week and that just didn't happen. But, I did the tractor club's newsletter folded and mailed out to the membership, whew the last step in my volunteering heavily for the club, makes me wonder who is taking that over :) I wish them well...
So on topic today is Funday Friday over at Jo's Scrap Shack :) Today the theme is Use Neglected Tools (Use a tool you've been neglecting to create a card, layout or project!) and the sponsor of this challenge is Fitztown. I used their Garden 7 digital stamp for my card today:
Isn't this a wonderful digital stamp, just loved it when I seen it, it makes me think of spring :) So the neglected tool I used was the GEO-Dies (GD-2) for the bottom border. I really don't know why I don't use these more often they create a nice effect on the card. I bought these probably 4 years ago and they sit in the drawer, well I think it's time to get them and put them to use (thinking scraps would be a good use for these :)
I colored the Garden 7 digital stamp with Spectrum Noir pens (despite what the picture shows the coloring is more of a hot pink and purples), die-cut it with spellbinders Label 9 die and inked the edges with SU Baked Brown Sugar ink. The background paper, the diecut paper and the sentiment sticker/alphas came from my current counterfeit kit. (the end of the month is drawing near and haven't made a dent in that kit!) I think this just may go to my sister's house for her birthday in August this year. Thanks for stopping by today......
Our sponsor this week is:
One lucky winner will receive 3 digi stamps of their choice!!
So make sure to play along this week~
Starts: Friday, January 30th 12:00AM
Ends: Friday, February 6th 6:00PM
(eastern time)

Love You card for Creative Cutting Challenge

Good Morning you all :) As I am writing this we are getting some snow here on the east coast. A good 2" already where I live in PA. I have a card today for the themed Valentine's Day challenge over at Creative Cutting Challenge
I used Creative Pointe's Love You Card for my Valentine project.
Love You Card - Click Image to Close
You get all the pieces needed for the card with choice of a non word front too, which I see could be used for a journaling block for a layout :)
I used the heart cardstock from SU for my card base. I cut the heart out of a DCWV foil cardstock pad (really shines well in person) and the love you was cut from designer pattern paper. All the papers were in my current counterfeit kit other than the foil that was in last month's kit. I used the Wink of Stella Brush for the glittery on the letters. I had a problem squeezing a bit hard at the beginning and the "e" got saturated with the glitter :) It was really easy to use after that and gives a nice shimmery look to the letters
I also decorated the inside of the card and now it's ready for a message from me to the hubby. I created a liner for the card in my Silhouette program very easily. I found the soft flocked hear in my box of things I kept aside for other projects that worked out great here. A strip of the hear paper and a sticker I found on an alpha sheet. Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the weather no matter where you live :)
Now we're ready to see YOUR  SVG (or similar) creations.
PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE YOU ENTER THE CHALLENGE:
They are simple and short.  Please click on the rules tab above for complete rules to enter this challenge.
MOST IMPORTANT RULE:  You MUST use a SVG or similar electronic cutting file in your project.  CRICUT CARTRIDGE ONLY ENTRIES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE.  Please make sure that you mention somewhere in your post what part of your project was created with a cutting file.  Entries that do not fit this basic requirement will be deleted.

First Family Photos

Good morning and welcome back to a new challenge over at Lasting Memories the challenge is Anything Goes with a Life's Moment theme. We were blessed last Monday with our newest Great Grandchild :) Her name is Emily Ann and well you'll see all the statistcs in an upcoming layout, but this layout features the photos that Amber took of the family:
How sweet are the moments of those first Family photos. Amber is Jessica's sister and both of them are our granddaughters. Thank goodness for facebook cause it is the only way we have to share in the excitement of this major Life Moment :) See Jessica and family live in South Dakota so it'll be till summer before we get to see Miss Emily Ann in person. So this is one of the pages that will be included in Emily's 1st year book I'm doing for a gift. The layout was pinterest inspired.
This is Jessica our Granddaughter holding her daughter our Great Granddaughter Emily Ann. found out she has a head full of blonde hair :) The other 2 photos are of Jessica, her husband Kevan and Miss Emily Ann.
When I went to start this layout I grabbed all the pinks that I had in this month's counterfeit kit, then pulled out all the baby girl stuff I have (now I'm ready to make this album with it all separated :) The pink cardstock, the heart border strips, the hot pink paper, the wooden veneer pieces scattered about the layout and the cut journaling scallop circles all came from the kit. The alphas came for the baby girl stuff I pulled for the layout. The family was a cut out I did with the silhouette one night using the red cardstock from last month's kit I put together.
The sweet moment 3X4 card is from a pack of me &my big ideas pack I had gotten 3 different packs of these cards in a swap box so when I cleaned out the box I put these in with my kit. The journaling sticker came from a sticker sheet in my current kit. I also added stickers from the one alpha pack I used on the layout. I journaled what she had wrote on facebook of the pictures
This is a picture that Amber took at the hospital of what they have on the wall in the pediatric section so I included that picture as well on the layout. More stickers from the alpha sheet and I made an embellishment with vellum and a piece of patter paper I found in one of my catchall boxes. The  circle with the script writing was one I had cut out earlier this month (yep lets get those scraps used up :) So Miss Emily Ann's book is started :) See you back here tomorrow with another project....
Thanks for stopping by today to see what's happening in my little corner of the world and I hoe you all join us over at Lasting Memories and show us your Life moments.

Start Fresh for the January 2015 CKC Blog Hop

Welcome to the January 2015 Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Member Blog Hop, so happy your here to join us. With a Start Fresh Layout :) If you are coming from the amazing Lisa's blog then your right on track. The challenges this month are:

I decided to do Challenge #1 Scrapping with lists. Thought this would be a fun one to tackle n January since I always start out the year working on my goals. I chose to use My Scraps & More Sketches  Challenge #98 for the basis of my layout:
I had fun with this sketch, the layout, and the list. Everything came from my current counterfeit kit other than the goal list that was in a previous kit a few months back.
The title of the layout actually came about from the Start Fresh is a program that is offered to the members of Simple Scrapper free, but now she offers a Start Fresh Anytime ecourse. It's a way that she offers a plan for the year of joyful memory keeping. Her membership offers some amazing benefits for a small price. I've enjoyed it for the past year now. But this year's class, she had us find a picture of our-self within the last year and a quote that fit best for us. You see both in the above photo block, I just fell in love with this quote when I saw it, it is the essence of how I feel about scrapbooking.
The rest of the layout block has a fun quote I found about being ahead and this is also some of the philosophy that Jennifer also points out in Simple Scrapper.  My list of goals this year. It was fun to play around with the word stickers that came on a Recollections sticker sheet. Have a fantastic day, looks like we are snow bound :) Stop back tomorrow for a new Lasting Memories challenge post.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop :) Next off to see what amazing project Susanne has done, did you see the pin inspired layout she did a couple days ago, will be pinning that to my board :)
If you found me first, go over to Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog to start at the beginning of the hop. Maybe since it's the new year you'll join along with us and get those projects and layouts done :)

A Merry Christmas Card for Funday Friday Challenge

Hi you all! Wow it's been some week, got my needed treasury finances done for the group I volunteered for and ready for the audit, plus it got passed onto the new treasurer, so happy that I did this and now passing it on to another to enjoy it too :) So I have been R&R this whole week, vegging out on the couch watching movies and enjoying some good reading too, did miss doing that and glad to be reading again. But I'm back to another crafty weekend ahead and lots to craft about.
It's a Funday Friday Challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack :) Today the theme is It's Sketch Time and the sponsor of this challenge is Little Blue Button Stamps. I used one of their Santa art png file for my card today:
So the png file I printed out on matte photo paper and just love the bright color of the file. The circle stamps are the perfect size to punch out with 2 1/2" SU circle punch. It's Sketch Time so the challenge is to also use this sketch:

Isn't that Santa stamp so much fun to use and the file comes with 6 different stamps to use. I used a variety of papers that was in my Dec counterfeit kit, mainly the CTMH workshop on the go cardmaking kit: Pear & Partridge. (Still have some paper left from this kit to use up :) I also grabbed some paper from my box of papers I pulled last month for my Dec Daily so glad that the Christmas paper is still readily available.
I used my scallop/scallop punch for the white snowflake border (the paper is left over from another card I made) Added the red ribbon from last month's embellishments tray of goodies from the counterfeit kit.
Thanks for stopping by today and we hope you all will play along.
Now it's your turn:

Buddy Thank You for Funday Friday Challenge

Good Morning you all and welcome, it's Friday and that means it's a Funday Friday Challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack :) Today the theme is Anything Goes and our sponsor is  Bugaboo Digi Stamp. I chose their Puppy enough reindeer digi stamp.
Oh is this just the most darling looking puppy :) A friend of ours sent a very large package of doggie treats for Buddy for Christmas and I thought this would make the cutest thank you card from Buddy.
I colored him up with my Bic markers and used smooch for the bells. I also used that SU dazzling details for the hat cuff and used it to sprinkle around lots of snowflakes. This stuff is just chunky enough to use for snowflakes :) I used 3 Twenty Crafts "Simple Sentiments" for the Thank You on the care that was stamped with SU Baked Brown Sugar ink.
Brought in some of the left over cut pieces to decorate the inside and stamped the thank you again in the same ink. Now it's ready for a little note from us. I used everything for the card from my stash, most of the papers came out of my dedicated dog paper drawer, but I did use the brown cardstock from last month's counterfeit kit for matting. I used the Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large and the Scallop version too for the cut on the front of the card.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you join us for the challenge. Stay warm.....Enjoy your Friday!

Christmas Morning LO for Creative Cutting Challenge

Hi and welcome back to the 1st Creative Cutting Challenge for the New Year. The theme of this challenge is Anything Goes and with getting a huge order of Christmas photos developed I did a 2 page layout of Christmas Morning.
Titled Christmas Morning but I also used the Holiday Headings Set from Creative Pointe
Holiday Headings - Click Image to Close
for the Subtitle to the layout and some accent pieces too. Isn't this just a fun set and they come all in one package of files covers just about all your needs for the Christmas Holiday and you will see more of these files in some up coming Dec Daily pages. You can see an example of the cut file here:
I dressed up the letters with SU Dazzling Details, boy is that chunky (thought it would be like stickles, but it was way more chunky than that)
So this is the Right side of the 2 page layout with my title block and the Creative Pointe file and some of the extra presents cut and scattered about. I used Sketch N Scrap #72 for my layout and I followed one of their designers examples for the other page.

The Left side of the page has a variety of pictures from the morning. A journaling spot in the center that I have to add the journaling to yet.
The papers and elements came from the kit I pulled together last month for Counterfeit Kit challenge. Stampin Up paper, also bits and pieces from the SU Hello December PL card Collection, the seasonal snapshot PL Accessory Pack (the washi tape came from this pack too)
The joy and the stars came from Prisma Birthday stickers collection
We start off the day with going through our stocking, having some cookies before we venture out to the living room to open our gifts. Buddy even got a gift from Santa this year (friends of ours sent us this huge box of dog biscuits and toys for Buddy :)

Off you go and give a try to the challenge we hope you all play along with us:
Rules are simple the project must be new works and  Each project must contain at least one SVG (SCUT, MTC or similar) file die cut and that file must be clearly apparent or you must state what piece of the project is the SVG (or similar electronic) file.  A file name or creator link would be helpful to those viewing your project. NOTE:  A project using only a Cricut Cartridge file is not eligible.  SUBMISSIONS WITHOUT ANY MENTION OF AN ELECTRONIC CUTTING FILE WILL BE DELETED.  Blog owner reserves the right to delete any submission deemed ineligible without notice to entrant.

Moments

Hi you all and welcome to our second January challenge over at Lasting Memories, is all about captured moments. I have found, through going back and looking over my photos that some of the best moments captured is when your not aware the picture is being taken. Then, there are my favorite moments captured intentionally or not the moments usually involved the grandkids. Here are 3 of my favorite moments:
Dave holding Avery (Albert's oldest son now 11 years old) for the first time, gathering of the kids and grandkids for the 1st Easter Egg Hunt we had, Dave had to explain the rules :) it was a funny moment. One of my favorite moments with Zachary he started doing the clapping as with the chicken dance, brought a big oh smile to my face. I'm really enjoying this month at Lasting Memories with their fun theme and challenges. We hope you will play along with us :)
This layout was made using the sketch over at Sketch N Scrap twistback thursday ( a fun new challenge for their blog) here is the sketch:

their TWIST: Out with the old and in with the new in 2015: use something old that is a year or more old on your layout as well as something that is new.  Make sure and tell us what you used that was old and what was new! Old: the lace, the circle brad, the pink doily, the metal button. New: the paper is Simple Stories Homespun which I purchased with my Christmas giftcard this year when I went to Michaels on Jan 2.

I cut up 2 3X4 cards to get the pennant action here in the corner. Picture of Dave and Avery 11 years ago.
Moments was cut out with my cameo it was a file I purchased for the store. (this past week was Silhouette week for cutting for this and some other upcoming projects) Most of the embellishments came from my current counterfeit kit and so glad to use up that other half of pink doily and got it out of my stash :)
The lace border was a fun addition and was not the original plan for the layout but the other border was way to wide, but I do love the lace and texture of it on the layout. The journaling block was a cut out piece for a tag that was in my journal tag pad. Cherished moments through the years from the time we met Avery to now. Scrapped 2015
Thanks for stopping by today to see what's happening in my little corner of the world and I hoe you all join us over at Lasting Memories and show us you captured moments

Bling It On Birthday Card for the Funday Friday Challenge

Hi you all :) I hope you are staying warm where you are at, here in PA it's been a bit cold, brrr but today is starting out just a bit warmer than the last few days. Today we have the first challenge for 2015 for the Funday Friday Challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack Bling It On! is the theme and the challenge is to add bling to your project and we got some new sponsors for the New Year too. The sponosor of this challenge is Little Blue Button Stamps. I used their Sally digital stamp for my Birthday card today:
Isn't she just a cute digital stamp :) I used a variety of markers to color her in purples and did the balloons in 3 different colors embossing powders. I also used purple cardstock for the base of the card and the purple oval cut behind the Lacey Ovals spellbinders die-cut I found that the ovals cutting system from Creative Memories has the perfect oval cut for the background of this die-cut. I added gold rhinestones to each of the lacey holes of the die-cut.
I used the gold cardstock that was dry embossed with a cuttlebug swirl embossing folder that I had in my counterfeit kit last month. For a backdrop on the card and added 3 borders all from my current kit the 2 birthday papers and the glitter silver tape. I scattered pink stars around the card from the sticker pack from the current kit and that birthday package came from the kit too.
You can see the embossed balloons better in this photo :) Still need to do the inside of the card yet for my granddaughter's birthday in April so I have plenty of time to decide what to do with it :) I also used the retro sketch that our Scrappin N Chatting group is using for the Jan sketch challenge.
Now it's your turn:
Our Sponsor this week is

A Pair of Christmas Tags

Good morning, today here in PA it's a bit on the chilly side with 14 degrees, so like now were in the winter weather. I got my Christmas pictures yesterday from my snapfish order and so excited to get them scrapped :) But first I have to work on some projects that are already on my list for this week. So the pictures will hang out with my December Daily bag full of goodies to tackle next week :) I do have some crafty things I did last month that I never posted so here are the tags I had made for a swap that we did in a yahoo group I'm with.
The top tag was for the Winter Wonderland tag swap We had quite a few in that swap so I was able to finish up a package of K&Company very merry snowflake layered accents. I used a CTMH stamp set and stampendious blue tinsel embossing powder (this one is tough to see if it heat embossed) I used the Wonderland paper from CTMH from last month's counterfeit kit. I attached 2 silver snowflake brads too. Added some blue ribbon in various styles from my ribbon stash.
These 2 tags were for the traditional swap and I used paper and embellishments from the December kit I made last month. I also used some left over die cuts I had left over from last year Hanging the Ornaments layout that are Creative Pointe's cuts from Christmas Set 2 I added a border of candy canes I had from a K&Company TC Christmas adhesive borders. Added a brad to the top of the cuts and the tree or stocking borders in green came from JTE Christmas diecut pack. Happy Holidays stickers are from a sticker sheet I had in my stash. Added some green ribbon and some red and white bakers twine to make a bow on the ribbon.

They were both fun project and the swaps I received back were amazing, penguins seem to be popular for the winter wonderland swap and the traditional swap went all over the place, but I kept back some favorites for my Dec Daily book. The rest adorned my presents very nicely :)
Have a sweet day and stay warm......

Simple Pleasures a Lasting Memories Blog Hop

Hello you all and welcome I am so excited to tell you that I made the cut over at Lasting Memories and I am one of their designers for the next 6 months! How cool is that!

Hello and welcome to our very first challenge for 2015 at Lasting Memories! We're celebrating the new year and new Design Team with a blog hop. Super fun right?! If you're just starting the hop, be sure to start at Lasting Memories so you don't miss anyone - if you're last stop was Lori at My Happy Life then you're on the right track!

Our challenge theme this entire month is "Life's Moments" and our first challenge is "Life's Simple Pleasures" .. we want to know what one of your simple pleasure's in life is. Chocolate? Coffee? Adorable children, pets or grandchildren?? SO many things to consider and we're excited to see what you create! What's my Simple Pleasure??? Here, let me show you!

I have so many simple pleasures where do I begin? Family and Friends has to be a good place to start. Most of the best times in life involve one or the other. Another simple pleasure is receiving a cute letter in the mail (Yes the original mail! ) and Christmas seems to bring the joy of seeing Family and Friends by way of photo cards and traditional Christmas cards :) I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I get a letter or a card and have time to read it and enjoy that little moment in time.
This layout also came about from a sketch challenge over at Stick it Down

We received some cute photo cards this past year:
The 2 bottom photos came from friends of ours that share the same passion as we do with our Moline tractors. The top photo is Dave's brother and his family. I also cut up the card we received from Dick and Mary that had this cute card front with the mail box and the sentiment Sending Happy Holidays
The title block was fun to put together I used some of the kit I made last month for this layout besides the blue cardstock background from the current counterfeit kit. The touch of red comes from the card we received from our niece and it made for a nice touch on this side of the layout and to give the layout more balance. The camera came from the Amy Tangerine remarks sticker pack that I then fussy cut for the title block.

The picture on the right is a collage photo card of our Niece's girls, The both have the Campbell looks, Greta looks just like Dave's sister at that age he told me and Lucy looks like Dave's mother at that age.
The picture on the top left is the newest addition to the family our Great Grandson Waylon (awww he so cute :) Waylon is 7 months in this picture and just love that Sabrina sent this one out of him.
I fussy cut the inside of the card that we received from Dick and Mary to include with the pieces of their card that I cut up and scattered about the layout. I also included the journaling strips like in the sketch, I just added an extra line.
Thanks for stopping by today and do enjoy the blog hop :)

Your next stop is Paula and when you're all done visiting the new Design Team, we really hope you'll have time to join the fun! All our challenges run for the entire month, so you have time to play! Thanks for stopping by today!
