Practice Makes Awesome

Hi you all :) Well Calvinball is winding down :) It was a blast and lots of talk over at Get It Scrapped about doing it again in July :) That would be fun I could do Christmas in July and get all those Christmas Layouts and projects done then :) I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens. I did get my Demystifying Clustering class with Nicole Jones completed and preparing to start Ready, Sketch, Go! a collaboration with Tracie Claiborne and Jen Schow. I've got the 1st layout from the 1st sketch started :)
A fun layout of Waylon at the bowling alley, Sabrina and a friend of her's went :) My word the Sabrina is amazing going bowling will carrying her twins! Looks like by the score Waylon did pretty darn good :)
This layout was inspired by Scrapbook Challenges: Sketch 197 – Updated
 197
I really like how it turned out and the fun swirl piece across the photo was a negative cut from the silhouette that has been hanging around my craft desk, so cool to add it to the layout.
Looks like he's in the zone :)
 Splatters scattered about the layout
The journaling :) It was a fun layout to do :) Thanks for stopping by and seeing what I'm doing in my little corner of the world

Derby for the Lasting Memories layout challenge

Good Morning and Happy Easter to you. I went to a beautiful church service this morning at the church that I got married in, it was wonderful to be back in the chapel for the Lord this time. I've been going through some christian changes and looking to attend a church that is closer to me on my side of the river. It's been a long 2 years since I stepped into church for a Sunday Service, I go each week for bible study on Wednesdays so I'm usually in church each week. It's a journey, but one that I need to do. I hope your Easter was a good one today too.
The latest challenge is up over at Lasting Memories today, and it is the final challenge of this month. Our theme this month has been "Welcome to the Oscars" and our last challenge is - "And the award goes to..." This could mean sports, trophies, school awards, etc. I found this picture in my stash of printed photos and I have many that would fit this challenge, I decided to do this one.
Elias, our grandson, he is the 2nd son of Albert's family. We were so proud t o see this picture on FB, we are always so proud to see the grandkids achieve in their life. So that day Elias was the star, winning that trophy.
I had inspiration for my layout from Whimsical Musings Challenge #124 - Inspired by stars, constellations, or the night sky I was very inspired by stars for my layout. i was also inspired by my Demystifying Clustering class by Nicole Jones this was lesson #13, just a couple more to go :) It's been a fun class and so glad to be learning so much about clustering. Also inspired by Calvinball :) with that I make sure I add things to increase my points :) and then I get inspiration from my counterfeit kit Camera Crazy. That is what is great about scrapbooking there is so many places to look for inspiration for layouts.
Close up of Elias and that trophy :) Plus 2 clusters: large one on top and the small one on the bottom
The journaling spot, love having cutaparts in the kit, they are great for this kind of thing too. That 1st place ribbon was in the stamps that I included in this month's kit. It was done with heat embossing with gold embossing powder. It was s fun addition to the layout
The top cluster is the medium cluster. Thank you for stopping by today and see what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. I look forward to seeing what you create this week for this challenge. All Challenges end on 4/1/16

Hi you all and welcome to Funday Friday :) I hope you all are having a chance to enjoy a long weekend :) Looks like the weather here is gonna be pretty decent so some time outside too maybe in order for the weekend :) This past week the Design Team was announced over at Jo's Scrap Shack great to see so many new faces welcome ladies to Funday Friday team :)
Today's Funday Friday challenge theme is Anything Goes over at Jo's Scrap Shack and the sponsors this week are Di's Digi Stamps and Bugaboo Stamps.

This was a purely fun layout to make no real reason behind making the layout other than to include the fun digi stamp. Yesterday was not a good day to find the pictures that I had in mind for the layout, but so glad that I have a variety of pictures that are printed out and ready to go in a moments notice :) A cleanup of the room in April is now a must do if I'm losing pictures and stamps. This layout was inspired by Whimsical Musings Challenge #10 - Inspired by what’s right outside your window
I also used a sketch to help me along with my layout. I used the Throwback Thursday Sketch #3 over at Sketch N Scrap

I like when I can add a stamp to my layout and this one was so cool when I seen it over at Bugaboos that I knew it would be used for a layout. I used Bugaboo's Winter Bird House stamp for my layout:
I colored it up with a variety of markers. More close ups of the layout:
The Title came from the  Whimsical Musings challenge and the journaling about the photos, not much just the vitals.
The cluster with the stamp
Just small clusters with this layout :p I used my current counterfeit kit: Camera Crazy for the journaling and part of the title paper and the word sticker and alphas.

Joy of Spring for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge March Blog Hop

Hi you all and Good Morning :) Another cool Blog Hop with Counterfeit Kit Challenge, would be great to see you all play along too. You should have come to my blog from the creative Susanne's blog :) So excited to go and see what cool project Susanne has done, but I'm excited to go and see what all the members have done. So if you are just now joining the hop you may want to go to Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog to start at the beginning of the hop.  This month we could either do the challenges or we were able to show anything we wanted that was created with our kit that we have not shared yet on our blog. As a reminder, here are the three challenges this month:

Challenge #1: May you live in Pinteresting times
Challenge #2: Media Studies
Challenge #3: Insta Inspiration

I chose to do Challenge #3 Insta Inspiration I chose to make a layout with photos in a square format like an insta :) Love these flowers when they bloom in the backyard with that pop of purple. I chose to do a monochromatic layout and lets those purple blooms shine.
This layout was done with the sketch from Let's Get Sketchy : Week 3 sketch

I did this sketch as soon as I seen it was a good one to use for a monochromatic layout :)
The title are of the layout, easy to see the lime green of it here
It was cool to add clusters to this layout and got to use up an old die cut that I had gotten in a swap, but I had in numerous counterfeit kits :) Glad to see it out of my stash and on a layout
This cluster has the flower name besides the date the pictures were taken. The fabric flower I had gotten in an old swap too.
Was able to use up that button (got a few more to go yet in the big buttons in various colors) I like adding the string to it and making a bow.
The journaling. A little bit of information about the flowers I found online and some personal thoughts too.
I was also inspired by Whimsical Musings Challenge #27 - Inspired by going green We are going green.  But I am not asking you to make a Green page (although, you get extra points in my book if you do!) I am talking about the concept of "green" - Repurposing, Recycling, Re-using.
We do our part of "Green" so glad to be able to use buttons on this layout :) Most buttons that you see on my layouts usually come from old shirts of the hubby's that he cuts the buttons off and I receive them :)

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of the blog hop. Your next stop is over at Elaine's blog
It's great to have her back around the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blogging again and looking forward to seeing what she has create :)

My Layout for the Lasting Memories Movie/Actor Quote Challenge

Hi you all and welcome to my blog :) Today's challenge was interesting, it took me awhile to focus in on what I wanted to use for a quote and then I come across this picture of Zachary and knew it would make for an easy quote find. So what did I use? You talkin' to me? from the movie Taxi Driver and the actor was Robert De Niro that said it :) per Wikipedia:"You talkin' to me?"The catchphrase "You talkin' to me?" has become a pop culture mainstay. In 2005, it was ranked number 10 on the American Film Institute's AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movie Quotes.[47] Look at that look he's giving to Mom, yes it definitely fits the title.
Since I took the picture of the layout I have added the ? to the layout :) This was a fun layout and just love that picture, oh that look he gives his Mom :) I grabbed some old theme paper for the layout and used specific cuts of words for my heart clusters. I used my current counterfeit kit: Camera Crazy for the background paper and the veneer hearts. I got my inspiration from many places:Sketch is from My Creative Sketches current challenge:

This is just a cool sketch the DT did a great for creative inspiration for it :) I also had help from 2 other challenges. One over at Paper Issues for their tic tac toe challenge I used: pattern paper, wood veneer, and handwriting. Over at Our Happy Scrappin Place I took on Something Old/Something New : must use 2 items that are over 3 years old (the pattern paper, the journal spot, the twill for the hearts, rubons) must use 2 items that are less than 1 year old (the veneer hearts and the Enamel green triangles are both new this year :) Woohoo! Love when I can use so many challenges :)
Oh boy look at the look :) That is a Campbell right there :) I've seen it at times with my hubby! The title block of the layout :)
The journaling :) Katherine and I what was posted on FB from the 2 of us :)
Close ups of the other 2 clusters :)
Thank you for stopping by today and can't wait to see what you create linked up over at Lasting Memories :)

Pedal To The Metal

Well it's after midnight : ) and still plugging away at blogging :) Now this layout truly was inspired by Whimsical Musings and Challenge #203 This challenge they were picking up a trend that was highlighted by Sherrie over at our Whimsical Facebook group page. We had chatted about this article quite a bit over at the FB page and I was not surprised when I seen it pop up for the challenge.
A few weeks ago, she linked to this article "The Edgy Trend You'll See Everywhere This Year" which forecasts that eyelets or grommets are going to be hot news in the fashion world this season.

Eyelets were the challenge.
My husband and his younger boys :) talk about going back in time to scrap some pictures :) This got me some points over at Calvinball :) So for me to figure out how to create the layout well:
First I figured out what I was scrapping and I knew I was doing it in a Monochromatic layout to cover a couple of challenges in a facebook group Our Happy Scrappin' Place and over at SNC yahoo group. Then I went to google for help on some inspiration for the eyelets and I came across this old post from Shimelle: here and I followed along with her video and created this layout. I love to be inspired in so many different places :)
I was surprised at the amount of the story I wanted to tell about these pictures. I told what Dave told me when I had asked him about the pictures and a little bit about my story with him and the tractor.
I thought this paper and that writing was perfect for the title for the layout :) Love when it's that easy :)
My 2 clusters on this layout :) yep even got some clustering advice from Shimelle :) Lots of stickers, die cuts and some new CTMH triangle enamels went onto this layout. it was a fun way to use that cassette tape cut too, like a subtitle to the layout. The circle I used a dinner plate and a pencil to mark the points that I wanted. When I found out how many green eyelets I had, I changed up the points so they were a bit further apart and then I still needed something so I came across some brads that were almost the same color and used those :) Yep, there is reasons not to purge your scrapbook stuff, sometimes the trends come back around :) Have a great day today and I may be back later on today.

& Having Fun

Hello again :) Not sure how I missed this one :)  while I was blogging in the order that I was making the layouts. I made this one from Nicole's Demystifying Clustering class, this was the lesson before the one I just posted. This is my husband Dave and our grandson Zachary having a very special moment. Dave got out a harmonica and showed Zachary how to play it. The 2nd photo is Dave saying "Hey you got it!" Zachary sure was having fun with it.
Love this layout :) Has to be one of my favorite pictures of Dave and Zachary together, it took a long time for Zachary to warm up to Pappy and so glad to see these moments. It was fun to use embellishments from a school kit and use it on a layout like this, learning as we grow in life :) I followed Nicole's layout format that she did on my layout. I added a bit more mist than what she did so I had to back it with cardstock so it wasn't to overly wavy. Yep, I'm learning as I go too.
Isn't this just the cutest picture of these 2 having so much fun :) I used mainly last month's and January's  counterfeit kits Color Splash and Brighter Year Ahead for this layout. Papers from the January kit and embellishments from the February kit :) I also used the prompt  Challenge #17 - Inspired by photos we love Love this photo :) not sure why it took me so long to scrap it :p
the top corner cluster
the smallest cluster but it had that big chipboard piece so thought that was sufficient :) but I added a couple more pieces to the cluster
The last cluster also includes the title. Love how they are having fun and that made for a good title for the layout too. See you all later this weekend :) Another layout for Calvinball too :)

You & Me

Trying to play a little catch up on posting layouts I have made from Nicole's Demystifying Clustering class, while taking a bit of a break from crafting at this moment :) This layout is of the younger grandboys, Zachary and Tristan. Mom took them to a place called Hooplas here near the Mall that just caters to games and they have a miniature golf course too.  This picture was so cool when I seen Katherine post it on Facebook so I grabbed it and it was the right one to use for this lesson that Nicole was doing in the class #7. I loved how she had you bring it out along a line like that, a style I would not thought to do :)
This was a fun layout to do :) Cool picture of the boys also :) I used some of my counterfeit kits: Camera Crazy and Color Splash for the layout. What was fun about this class you first start out the class making a kit :) So I incorporated alot of my February kit into the kit for this class and from this class I'm learning what I can do with my counterfeit kits so I can scrap just a bit faster :)
A close up of the boys and the smallest cluster
 The journaling spot
 The top corner cluster
This last photo is the title work with the largest cluster. Just a fun layout to do and will give this style a go again. With all my layouts this month I have been inspired by a prompt over at Whimsical Musings: Challenge #5 - Inspired by Anthropologie
for this challenge they gave you like a moodboard to work with. The bold color of the sweater is like the bold color of the ride that Zachary is riding. the block remind of the blocks on the board to like fading away from the main picture :). Also lots of words on the layout like they have on the left side of the mood board.
Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world :)

Happy Easter for a Funday Friday Challenge

Hi you all and happy Friday to you :) oy vey ever have one of those days! Scheduling your day doesn't always work out the way you want, does it. But with great vibes I'm glad it's Friday a bit late in the day for the post but it's here!
This week's Challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack for Funday Friday is:
"Happy Easter"
Create a card, layout or project with
this week's theme!
Our sponsor this week is Little Blue Buttons Stamps and this is what I made with my little flower digi stamp.
I found this fun paisley paper when I was looking for another paper so made sure to set it back for Easter cards. Also came across the purple plaid too so that went in the same pile and grabbed the purple glitter paper when I was looking for a certain purple paper for a layout I just did. So my pile was the basis for the card :) Love when things come together like that.
I take it I should have went back to Little Blue Buttons site while I was coloring this stamp, I would have realized that there was green leaves in it too :) They all looked like beautiful flowers that I first colored pink and then colored with the Glitter Violet Wink of Stella pen (oh I like this one and will be using it again soon :) a picture I hope you can see a bit of the glitter that pen does. I added a few yellow sequins in one corner and blue sequins in the other corner. The SNC yahoo group challenge for shape: rectangle is what created the base of the care with some help for this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

My interpretation of this sketch :)
The inside of the card I found this nice sentiment online. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a great weekend, I plan to make mine a crafty one :)

Our Sponsor this week is:
Little Blue Button Stamps
The winner will win 4 digital stamps of their choice!
