A Card for Mom for Funday Friday Challenge

Good Morning and happy Friday to you :) Ready for the weekend ? I sure am :) I got to get through Saturday mandatory shift at work before my craftiness can begin :) but I'm looking forward to being in the scrap-room a bit.
This week's challenge for Funday Friday is Mother's Day over at Jo's Scrap Shack. Our sponsor this week is Little Blue Button Stamps. I used a sweet flower stamp from Little Blue Buttons Stamps for my card today:
I used the Mango Frost 4X6 mat stack from my Color Splash counterfeit kit, my February kit :) It's great to still have bits of the kit out to use especially the 4X6 mat stacks, it's a bit more handy this way.
I used a sketch from Cardz TV they are having a special challenge this week using any of the 12 sketches that Mary has made:

I used her sketch #8 for my card.
A close up of the pretty stamp :) besides coloring it I added stickles and spread it around the flower with my finger to give it some overall glitter to the petals.
The inside of the card. I used 3 Twenty Crafts stamp set Say It From The Heart.
Thank you for stopping by today and seeing what I'm up to in my little corner of the world. You should check out what my other crafty DT sisters created for this challenge too :) I look forward to seeing your creation linked up over at Jo's Scrap Shack

Artsy for the CKC April Blog Hop

Hi :) If you are looking for the Lasting Memories Layout Challenge post you will find it here

Good Morning you all :) As I just checked on this post I come to find out I never took it out of draft mode (me bad :) So Good Afternoon :) If you came from the creative Jemma's blog then your on the right track :) but if not you may want to start at The Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and get on board with the first stop on this month's blog hop. This is always a fun blog hop showing off the ladies creations from their current counterfeit kit. This month, you can choose to share any project you have made with your Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit which you have not shared on your blog yet. You project could be related to any of the three challenges or maybe just something you made with your kit. As a reminder, here are the three challenges this month:
Challenge #1: Shabby Chic Techniques
Challenge #2: C'est Magnifique, N'est Pas?
Challenge #3: Ephemera Encapsulated
I went with challenge #3, I added all the fun stuff I got at the local crop I attended this past February. I used this sketch over at The Memory Nest to help me create my layout:
I used the paper that was sitting on the table I had to use for part of the story and I fussy cute the lady scrapbook clip art from the bottom of the page to add to the layout. The tickets I won for the each page I created I used at the top of the paper for a fun addition.
My personal journaling and that cute clip art I fussy cut out.
 The title work
And the picture of my table. I get into it when I'm at a crop. Grab the tote f necessities, grab my current Counterfeit Kit and my Page Maps book for some sketches and away I go!
Thanks for stopping by today, I'm your last stop on this hop. Everything on this layout, other than the items I got from the crop is old stash :) So with that said I am using Whimsical Musings prompt #33 Inspired by Old Stash, which is very fitting for a Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop. The Title piece I bought years ago at JoAnns when it was on clearance. Bought it when I really loved glitter! I still do, but not like back then :) This piece is the old glitter that flakes off when you use it and to combat that I used tomboy wet adhesive like you would use glossy accents and coated it. I have one more title piece like this to use up yet and will probably being doing the same with that. which is very fitting for a Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop.

True Beauty

Hi you all and a Good Sunday to you :)
This weeks Lasting Memories layout challenge is the 2000s :) Wow has it been an interesting century so far. So with this you have 16 years to work with. I could have went in many directions with this challenge as you can too. I've got some current favorite artists and could have went that way, how about the dance trends of this century so many options there too. But I went with the sweetness of my grandkids and their musical talents, anyone that follows along with my blog knows about my grands and their talents, I have made a few layouts about them. This layout is focused on my granddaughter Isabelle:
This was Isabelle's 2nd recital and we could hear her improving. So I chose this layout cause it was a spotlight picture of her, she is a true beauty with a beautiful soul, so much like her mother in that respect. The inspirational picture for the challenge looks like someone being spotlighted so this was the layout to do.
This week's Lasting Memories Layout Challenge: Music Montage/ Era is the 2000s and what comes to mind for you for that era or the picture:
So much could be taken from this picture, but the spotlight caught my eye.
This layout was created for LOAD515 day 20: In the Spotlight is the prompt: Every family has that natural performer who loves the spotlight. Shine the spotlight on them today and tell of their moment in the limelight!
My youngest granddaughter's 2nd recital, this was her day to shine. It was sweet to see and hear how much she was improving already. We are very proud grandparents and so blessed to have many grandkids that are learning the beauty in music by what instruments they are learning to play.
I added the paper we received and framed out Isabelle's  name
A sweet cutapart card from the paper kit
The journaling I included right onto the layout. It's great to have these layouts that I created with LOAD that I have yet to blog about, it's fun to have them available for challenges like this and they get their day to shine too
Thank you for stopping by today to see what I'm up to in my corner of the world. I look forward to seeing what you create from this fun challenge this week over at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges All link-ups for the month are due April 29th.  Check out the sidebar for our APRIL Prize giveaway!!

The Heart That Loves is Always Young

Hi you all and good day to you :) Today I have a double page layout that I made for Stick It Down design team. I've held on to these pictures for quite awhile, I would pull them out and they just wouldn't work with the sketch I was looking at. Finally a sketch that is the best match for all these pictures:
These photos are from May 23, 2015, we were invited over the Brad and Katherine's for a meal and some good old family fun :) Dave and Brad enjoyed a game of cornhole while I enjoyed spending time with the grandboys, playing ball with Zachary or pushing Tristan on the swing. We had a fantastic time and all the while in the background is Katherine taking these great pictures with my camera. I was pleasantly surprised when I got home an seen all the fun memories on my camera.
Here is the Double Page sketch that we were to use this month. Lots of space on there for pictures.
 My journaling
 A fun Project Life card
 Close up of the cluster
 Another cluster and picture Zachary
Close up of Tristan and Brad in the sunglasses. Another cluster
The largest cluster and closeup of the swing pictures. It was a fantastic day :) I used my current counterfeit kit Shabby Gone Wild. Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I'm doing in my little corner of the world. I look forward to seeing your double page creation over at Stick It Down challenge blog.

#HUH

Hi you all and welcome to this week's challenge over at Use Your Stuff Blog. The challenge this week is punches. Here I used my favorite punches, a variety of circle punches.
This layout was made during LOAD515 Day 9: Mis-Heard We were to do a misheard lyric, but I did the misheard lyric in the past present 2 load. So after deliberating most of the day decide to go this way with the prompt. Really didn't know how often I said Huh till I watched and heard my wedding video. This picture still remember (in my late 20s) I was looking at something, someone said something to me and as I was turning to say HUH they took this picture of me very natural. I used a wide variety of circles to make up the background of this layout.
I come across this for the word HUH, the origin for it and wanted to add it to the layout.
Title and lots of fun speech bubbles for variations of the word HUH
Definition and my journaling on this project Life card. This was a fun layout to do and it shows a side of me that I had not known about till I got married and seen that wedding video. The picture of me is one of my favorites, it's one that caught me off guard that day as I was swinging around to find out what someone had said, the picture was taken.
Thank you for stopping by today and I look forward to seeing what you create with your punches :)

In The City

Hi you all and what a sweet Sunday it is :) Gotta get the shorts out and get them washed :) It's that warm out here to enjoy wearing them especially at work, very hot in there yesterday. Today is a new challenge over at Lasting Memories and today it's about Broadway. I was lucky enough to have went to New York in my younger years and got to see Grease. Wow was that a cool play to see at that time. My Mom and I travel quite a bit when I was younger and we did it mainly by bus, my parents didn't drive. So I remember staying at this fancy old hotel and not much more other than the Rialto theater to see the play.
I couldn't find any pictures of us, but I found a postcard of the hotel we stayed at, the memorabilia of the trip and some photos that Mom purchased. The pockets that I created hold the brochures and the book of New York a site guide.
The left side of the Layout has the postcard of the hotel we stayed at. I also found online the playbills of Grease during that time that we may have had and the 8X8 page In The City became my title and also a pocket to hold the memorabilia brochures and extra photos from the trip. These were a great find going through the box of things of Mom's that she saved and it brought back many memories of a fantastic trip.
The right side of the Layout I used another 8X8 paper to make the pocket to hold the book (travel guide) of New York. I added a few pictures from the picture pack to the layout and so glad to see the Twin Towers in that pack of pictures. I do remember going up to the top of those towers and seeing the view of New York it was amazing, back then I wasn't afraid of heights and so glad I wasn't. It was a grand vacation.
My journaling of the trip that I remember and the memories of the experience.
Some of the pictures
Close up of the pocket and the home for the book, that will be accessible from the top of the page protector.
The other pocket that has the brochures that Mom collected from the trip and the extra photos. So glad that she keeps a hold of things like this, something that I also do, something we have in common. As I am going through this box of goodies I received from her, I will take the time to find the pictures and try to journal the memories as they come to me and get them scrapped. Something I'll be working on throughout the year.
So many ideas and goals this year, this one will sure be fun as I scrap through those memories.
This layout came about from LOAD515 Day 6:  Time to check out a Performer! How about…
Olivia Newton John! From “Grease” to “Let’s Get Physical” and her brave and public breast cancer battle…she is an inspiration to us all, in one way or another. How does your story relate? Tell it now: The prompt all that came to mind was this trip to New York City when we saw Grease on Broadway! I loved Olivia's music but I really associate the movie Grease with her the most and that brings me back to the play (which I was lucky enough to see before the movie came out by a few years). I made to interactive pockets for the memorabilia from the trip. I could not find any pictures from this trip other than the pack of prints that Mom bought while we were there. This is an experience that I will never forgot and I got to see the Twin Towers too that trip. So it's easy enough to see how this story related to her. Grease is one of my favorite movies and seeing the play was an AWESOME experience, so when I had heard about the movie coming out I was so excited to see if they stayed true to the play and was pleasantly surprised they did very well, great to see the extra that they added to the movie.
So this week's challenge over at Lasting Memories is Broadway: anything to do with Broadway or this photo for inspiration!
So that means you could do a layout about your cats, or how about a layout of your kids dressed up as a cat for Halloween, you could use the colors, the possibilities are endless with this challenge.
Love to see what you create from this fun challenge this week :)

Always Radiate Sun Shine for Funday Friday

Hi you all :) We've been having the most beautiful weather here in Pennsylvania :) and the weekend is to be the same. So happy to create the card I did for this week's Funday Friday it's perfect for this weather. This week's challenge over at Jo's Scrap Shack is a
"Color Challenge
Use TAN, BLACK & RED"
Create a card, layout or project with
this week's theme!
Well I did use the colors after I realized what thee challenge was, but I also used some yellow for the sunshine:
I used a My Bestie stamp (one of our Sponsors this week is Sherri Baldy Art) Pool Time Polly for my card. Found a fun felt smiley face flower in my stash too that was the perfect embellishment to add to the card. I used a paper from the SU Moonlight paper pad that is in my current kit for the tan matting on the black cardstock for the cardbase. The PL card from a kit in last month's kit gave the sentiment for the card. I have yet to figure out how I'm using the card so the inside just has tan base in it for the desired sentiment when I figure it out. Our other sponsor for this challenge is Little Blue Button Stamps http://lbbstamps.com/.

Shabby Gone Wild! an April Counterfeit Kit

Hi you all :) I hope the week has been fabulous for you so far :) I'm thinking I'm getting into a groove, since going back to work. Was able to get some time last night to pull my April Counterfeit Kit together :) If you have not done kitting before than this is the place to go and learn about doing it :) Right now kits seem to be a trend with scrapping but instead of buying the newest thing I go rogue and buy from my own stash :) then create my own kit :) with a little help from Counterfeit Kit Club. This month Counterfeit Kit Challenge is counterfeiting a kit from The C'est Magnifique Kit Club. Each kit reveal includes a Main Kit, Paper Add On, Mixed Media Kit, Flower Add On and Embellishment Add On (wow!) which means that this month there are countless counterfeiting opportunities. You could choose to work with the Main Kit; the Main Kit + Add Ons; the Paper Add On + the Mixed Media Kit; the Main Kit + the Flower Add ons. I think I may have gotten a mix of each with mine :) Here is my kit Shabby Gone Wild!
Yes it's a bit of a Shabby Mess when I was gathering it all up last night. You know me and the way I like large kits :) Well this month I went with extra embellishments :) When I seen the inspiring kit that very first day of April:
The first thing I grasped onto was the florals and the butterflies and I knew I had a very old 8X8 paper pad that was just perfect for this kit so that is what inspired me besides the kit picture above:
So this was the beginning of my kit :) My list from what I took from the reveal kit: Frames, Keys, Fabric Flowers, Lace Trims, Borders, Doilys, Big Words, Paper Flowers, Stencils, Polka Dot, Fibers and Victorian Style is what directed my choices for my kit:
My selection of papers, I'm taking another Nicole Jones' class: Two Page Spreads Class so I knew from the 1st class video I was gonna need alot of paper. So this is my loose paper. I also have te 8X8 paper pad and while looking for that I came across so really old 6X12 paper pads from cricut so that went into my kit, I added a 4X6 Moonlight SU paper pad to the kit and Authentic (True Blue) collection to the kit to try to finish that off this month :) and my 2 chosen Dazzles kits:
I added some trims, lace, fibers, metals and a punch that never been open to my kit :) I also am including my MS doily punch set (not in the picture) to the kit cause I have yet to use that and it looks like the month to give that a go
Some of the trims, lace, fibers, washi tape, metals and the punch. I also will have my little heart punch and die cut set available for some hearts too
A close up of the washis and metals
The chosen alphas, I stuck with the blacks, whites, purples, golds and a grey besides the one that came with the Authentic kit. That is it, that's my kit :) A bit later this month getting a chance to do and post it, but I think I'll have fun with it......

I Want My MTV

Hi you all :) Working quite a bit at the new job this week :) So I guess I need to start scheduling posts so the blog isn't so not happening during the week :) but today I got something for you :) Today is the new challenge for this week over at Lasting Memories. With this month's theme of Music Montage this week's challenge is the 80s'! Remember the 80s' this to me by far had to be my favorite era when it came to music there was so much changing in music but lots of fun changes. My layout of the 80s'
The 80s' brought new music to TV with videos :) oh my I loved MTV.

LM 288 -The 80's - Dawn of the Digital Era

This is the challenge :) Take it any way you see fit,  it's anything about that time frame.
This layout came about from LOAD515 Day 26: As seen (heard!) on TV! You can’t help loving the music from TV; theme songs, MTV, Dick Clark, commercials! Tell the story of how your life has been touched by TV music. This is the story of how my life was touched by MTV
1981 was when MTV came out, so cool! Also it was the year this kiddo was born, my son Steven. I got some personal journaling to do yet about how music has evolves just in my life time and that year that MTV came out and how it was a help for me as a Mom at this time
 My son Steven :)

I look forward to seeing your creation about the 80s :) Chat later and I wish you a great day today :)
